DFB-Pokal wrap: Schalke, Hoffenheim into quarters

Four-time champions Schalke 04 scored late to beat Augsburg 1-0 and progress to the quarter-finals of the DFB-Pokal.

Peru forward Jefferson Farfan provided the winning goal in the 84th minute, pushing them into the last eight of the German Cup tournament.

Schalke is also in the last 16 of the Champions League, where they next take on Valencia.

Hoffenheim advanced to the quarter-finals with a 2-0 win over Bundesliga cellar-dwellers Borussia Monchengladbach.

Koblenz’s home fixture against Kaiserslautern was postponed after overnight snow made the pitch unplayable, with the match to be rescheduled for January 18.

The tie between Kickers Offenbach and Nuremburg has already been rescheduled to take place on January 18.
