Angel Di Maria is set to join Manchester United for £40m once he is finished competing in this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil, according to the Express.
The Argentina international has been strongly linked with a move away from Real Madrid this summer, despite a fine season which saw him score eleven goals in fifty-two appearances across three competitions – two of which were won by Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
He was named man of the match in the Champions League final victory over Atletico Madrid while internationally he scored his tenth goal for his country with the extra-time winner over Switzerland in the World Cup round of sixteen tie in Sao Paolo on Tuesday.
United are currently leading the race to secure the 26 year old’s services in a deal which would take their summer spending to around £100m, with the club having already signed Luke Shaw from Southampton and Ander Herrera from Athletic Bilbao.
