Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo has confirmed that Wigan attacker Victor Moses is on the brink of a move to Stamford Bridge.
The two Premier League clubs have agreed a fee, reported to be around nine million pounds, and the midfielder will now undergo a medical at the club.
Di Matteo is looking forward to working with the 21-year-old and has praised his development at the DW Stadium since joining from Crystal Palace in 2010.
“The clubs have agreed terms now. The player will have a medical. Subject to that he might become a Chelsea player,” Di Matteo told reporters.
“(Wigan manager) Roberto Martinez has done a wonderful job with this player since signing him. He’s really developed him.
“He had a very good season last year and hopefully we can progress his development.”
Di Matteo talked up the ability of the young attacker and highlighted Chelsea’s determination to acquire Moses’ talent as evidence of his future potential.
He added: “He can play on either wing and will give the team width. He has good dribbling ability, has pace and is powerful.
“We’ve tried very hard to get this player. We like him very much. He’s young and hopefully he’ll be the future of the club.”
