West Bromwich Albion are close to agreeing a deal for former Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby, according to Sky Sports.
The twenty-nine year old has spent the last ten years with the Gunners, though consistent struggles with injury limited him to just one hundred and eighty appearances for the club in all competitions, though over three quarters of those outings came before the summer of 2010.
Prior to his switch to the Premier League, Diaby played fourteen times for Auxerre in his native France, while he has made sixteen senior appearances for his country, three of which came at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
His one international goal so far came in his last game for Les Bleus, when he scored the only goal in a 1-0 World Cup qualifying victory over Finland in September 2012.
The Baggies brought in James McClean from Wigan Athletic last week, while they are also working hard to secure the services of striker Saido Berahino, who has been strongly linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
