Diarra: I want to stay at Real Madrid

Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra has made a u-turn by saying that he wanted to remain at Santiago Bernabeu.

The French midfielder was expected to leave the club this summer in search for first team football, and he was repeatedly linked with a move to Tottenham.

However, just as the transfer to White Hart Lane was expected to be completed, the player denied any link to Spurs.

“Information about my departure is a lie,” Diarra told AS.

“There is no agreement with Tottenham and I don’t think there will be any.”

The player made these statements while in Nice, after he was allowed a leave of absence by the club for family reasons.

Diarra then made it clear that his future was at Santiago Bernabeu.

“I have a contract with Real Madrid until 2013 and my coach is Mourinho.”
