Marseille midfielder Alou Diarra is set to be transferred to West Ham, L’Equipe has revealed.
The newly promoted side are desperate to reinforce the squad before the start of the Premier League campaign and they have already signed James Collins, Modibo Maiga, Momo Diame and Jussi Jaaskelainen, among others.
According to L’Equipe, French midfielder Alou Diarra is set to become their latest signing of the summer transfer window.
The French newspaper claims the two clubs have reached an agreement over the transfer fee, with the player expected to finalize his move subject to passing a medical on Thursday.
The 31-year-old only joined Marseille last summer from Bordeaux for a fee of €5 million, but is now expected to move on after what was a very disappointing season for his club.
Diarra, nevertheless, managed to score 2 goals in 34 Ligue 1 games last season, while starting three games for France at the 2012 European Championship.
