West Ham United are closing in on a short team deal for former Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid midfielder Lasssana Diarra, according to the Daily Star.
The 29 year old is currently training with Sam Allardyce’s men, with a view to penning a contract until the end of the season.
He was most recently seen playing for Lokomotiv Moscow, making seventeen appearances for the last season, scoring his one and only goal for the club in a win at Ural.
Internationally, Diarra has been capped twenty-eight times by France, while his roll of club honours includes league titles and cup triumphs in both Spain and England.
West Ham drew with Manchester United at Upton Park on Sunday afternoon to remain in the hunt for a European qualification place.
They travel to fellow high-flyers Southampton on Wednesday evening, and can be backed at a price of 17/4 to take all three points.
