West Ham United midfielder, Alou Diarra, is set to join Ligue 1 outfit Rennes on loan until the end of the season, that’s according to talkSPORT.
Diarra has become unsettled at Upton Park and has expressed his desire to leave the club this month, something that didn’t seem to go down well with Sam Allardyce.
However, he could now be granted his move back to France, but it is not thought that West Ham want to sell him on a permanent basis as they believe he still has a future at the club.
The French side have been desperate to add a new midfielder to their squad of course following the sale of star man Yann M’Vila to Rubin Kazan earlier in the month and Diarra could be the perfect replacement for them.
With just a few hours to go in this transfer window though, it might be tough for a deal to be done in time.
A lot also depends on the future of Mohamed Diame, whose future with the Hammers is still unclear following months of speculation.
One thing is for sure, Allardyce will not want to lose a key player if he is not able to bring anyone else in.
