Sporting Lisbon winger Diego Capel is expected to leave Estadio Jose Alvalade this summer, according to Portuguese daily newspaper Record.
The Spanish midfielder has fallen behind Heldon and Carlos Mane in the pecking order, and with Andre Carillo and Wilson Eduardo also able to play on the left wing, the 26-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements.
Considering that he has more than two years left on his contract worth around €1.4 million gross, the Lions are desperate to cash in on the player at the earliest opportunity.
However, since Sporting own 75% of the player’s rights, they are looking to get at least €4 million for the highly rated winger.
Capel, who has made 78 league appearances for the Lions and scored 10 goals since joining from Sevilla, reportedly has suitors in England, Spain and Russia, meaning he should have no shortage of offers in the upcoming transfer window.
