Spanish winger Diego Capel is on the verge of agreeing a summer move to Genoa, Record can reveal.
Sporting Lisbon are desperate to offload the 27-year-old at the earliest opportunity due to the fact that he is one of club’s highest earners but no longer plays an important role in the squad.
And it appears their wish will come true seeing as how Capel is in advanced talks with Serie A side Genoa.
Even if the winger has another year left on his contract at Estadio Jose Alvalade, Sporting Lisbon will allow him to leave on a free transfer this summer, although they will be entitled to 50% of his future transfer fee.
Capel is already in Genoa with his agent Carlos Goncalves and it is believed the deal will be agreed in the coming hours.
The talented footballer made a total of 99 league appearances for the Lions since joining from Sevilla four years ago and scored 10 goals.
