Diego Godin could be leaving Inter Milan after only a year at the club to join Cagliari, several reports in Italy claim (via Marca).
The Uruguay international spent nine years with Atletico Madrid before moving to Italy last summer, helping the Rojiblancos reach two Champions League finals, win two Europa League titles, three UEFA Super Cups, Copa del Rey in 2013 and the La Liga title in the following season.
In 2019/20, he played a total of 36 games for Inter in all competitions and helped them reach the Europa League final.
However, it is believed the 34-year-old has no place in the plans of head coach Antonio Conte anymore, even though neither Inter nor Cagliari have revealed anything officially. The relationship between the two club is good after Inter midfielder Radja Naingolann spent last season on loan at Cagliari, and a potential move there is thought to have a sentimental aspect for Godin, whose wife was born in Cagliari.
