Diego Lopez wants Premiership move
AC Milan goalkeeper Diego Lopez is being heavily linked with a winter move to English Premier League, according to Tuttosport.
The Spanish shot-stopper surprisingly lost his place in the starting line-up to 16-year-old Gianluigi Donnarumma, and the Rossoneri coach Sinisa Mihajlovic recently praised the veteran for his professional behaviour during what has been a difficult few weeks for him.
Nevertheless, it is perfectly clear that Lopez is far from happy with the current situation and he reportedly hopes to leave AC Milan in search of regular first team football at the earliest opportunity.
Tuttosport has learned that he has a number of suitors in English Premier League, and it is believed the former Real Madrid goalkeeper wouldn’t object to even joining a mid table side.
Diego Lopez joined AC Milan on a free transfer a year and a half ago and has since managed 36 league appearances for the Rossoneri.
Fiorentina close on Benfica defender
Portuguese daily newspaper O Jogo has learned that Serie A high flyers Fiorentina are on the verge of signing Lisandro Lopez from Benfica.
Viola have showed interest in the Argentine centre-back a while ago and the recent unexpected windfall has allowed the club to step up their efforts.
Namely, as Sampdoria appointed Vincenzo Montella, Fiorentina not only saved around €4.5 million as their former coach had a contract until June 2017, but also received a €2.2 million pay off by their league rivals.
As a result, they have immediately launched an assault on Lisandro Lopez, with the two clubs already in advanced talks.
And with the 26-year-old desperate to end the disappointing spell with the Eagles, chances are an agreement will be reached soon, allowing the Argentine to join Viola in January.
Twelve games into the new Serie A campaign and Fiorentina still lead the chase, with Paulo Sousa’s charges 10/1 shot to lift the coveted trophy.
Japanese forward on Marseille radar
French giants Marseille are weighing up summer move for Gamba Osaka forward Takashi Usami, La Provence has quoted a report in Japanese media.
It is no secret that OM are extremely short of options in the attacking department, with Michy Batshuayi the only senior striker in the squad.
Hence, Marseille are almost certain to recruit at least another forward in the January window and it would appear as though Japanese starlet Takashi Usami is one of the names on their hit-list.
The 23-year-old has been scoring goals for fun ever since he returned to Gamba Osaka following somewhat unsuccessful loan spells with Bayern Munich and Hoffenheim.
Usami went on to score impressive 48 goals in 77 league outings and he is now effectively back on the radar of Europe’s top sides.
According to the latest reports, Marseille are prepared to offer him another chance to prove his worth in Europe, with a January bid being mooted.
