Diego Milito to stay at Inter; Shanghai confirm Anelka deal

Diego Milito to stay at Inter

The agent of Inter striker Diego Milito is adamant that his client won’t be leaving the Neroazzurri in January.

After playing a key part in Inter’s push for a historic treble two years ago, Milito have largely struggled to rediscover his scoring touch.

The Argentine has scored just four goals in all competitions this season and he has been linked with a January exit.

However, his representative Fernando Hidalgo says that the player is not looking to leave the club.

“Diego will not leave Inter because he wants to return to the level of performances he showed two years ago in the Neroazzurri jersey,” Hidalgo told Il Corriere dello Sport.

“The idea to change the club in January was not even considered.

”But if things do not turn out well, one could consider alternatives next summer, but not before then.”

The 32-year-old striker is being mentioned as a possible target for French giants Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Marseille.

Shanghai confirm Anelka deal

Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua have confirmed that they have a deal in place to sign Chelsea forward Nicolas Anelka.

The Frenchman recently revealed that he already knew the name of the club he would join in the winter.

As it was suspected, Anelka’s next destination will be Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.

“It will be a three-year contract and will involve both football and commercial cooperation,” Shanghai’s spokesperson Ma Yue told Shanghai Daily.

Club chairman Zhu Jun also confirmed the deal was in place.

“We started to talk about every detail from the first minute of the negotiations,” Jun told reporters.

“The whole contract is made up of details. It’s comprehensive and complicated, involving the player’s image and the commercial cooperation.”

Marchisio pledges future to Juve

Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio reveals that he has never thought about leaving the Bianconeri.

The Italian international was linked with a move away from the club in the summer, but he eventually decided to stay at Juventus Arena.

“Although there were a lot of rumours about a potential transfer, I always had the club’s full confidence,” Marchisio told Tuttosport.

“I never even thought about leaving Juventus. I had only just signed a contract extension and had absolutely no reason to think about a transfer.”

Marchisio has been a key player for the Old Lady this season, scoring 6 goals in 12 league games, but he thinks it’s too soon to be talking about Juventus’ title chances.

“It’s not like we’re not talking about the title, but it’s still very early. At the moment, we’re first in the table and that’s important to us. However, there are so many more games to be played.

“We have shown that we can play some good football and we will now have to keep up that good form. We can’t make any mistakes.”
