AS Roma winger Diego Perotti has made it clear that he hopes to return to Boca Juniors some time in the future.
The Argentine enjoyed a short spell with La Xeneize in the second part of the 2013/2014 season, but only made two substitute appearances for the club as he battled various injuries.
Perotti has since kick-started his career in Italian Serie A, but despite enjoying a very successful stint with AS Roma, he hopes to return to La Bombonera.
“Roma are like Boca, they force you to win all the time,” Perotti told SoloBocaRadio.
“I want to change the image of me from when I left Boca, as due to muscle injuries I played very little.
“I still have two years of my contract left with Roma, then I would go back to Boca. I would like to have a second chance, even though it is difficult.”
Diego Perotti signed a permanent deal with the Giallorossi in the summer after impressing while on loan from Genoa, and he has already scored 6 league goals this term.
Chances are that he will soon be offered a new deal at Stadio Olimpico, meaning that his dream of playing for Boca Juniors again will be put on hold.
Perotti has also suggested that another former Boca Juniors footballer Leandro Paredes has got a great future ahead of him.
“Paredes? He has a huge future ahead of him. He can be Roma’s number five for the coming years.”
