Competition: League One
Market: Diego Rubio to score anytime
Odds: 6/5 @ Bet 365
Bouncing back from their poor run of form in July, Peter Vermes’ Sporting KC side will look to close the gap at the top of the Western Conference when they host Orlando on Sunday.
Starting with the hosts, although Sporting are coming off the back of a 3-1 loss to a revitalized Seattle Sounders side, it has been impressive run of form for Peter Vermes’ men. The Whites had previously won their last four MLS matches on the bounce and even more impressive, they kept a clean sheet in all of those victories. One man to watch for Sporting will be Real Valladolid loanee, Diego Rubio. The 25-year-old found the net in their defeat to Seattle last time out and now has four in his last three MLS matches. Up against an Orlando defense drastically short of form, Rubio should be confident of extending his tally.
As for Orlando, it has once again been another disappointing campaign for the Purples and coming off the back of a 2-2 draw with Philadelphia Union, James O’Connor’s side now have just one MLS win since the start of May. It will most importantly be Orlando’s defensive record that will be the biggest issue for O’Connor. Orlando have now conceded two or more goals in their last seven outings on the bounce and are now hold the worst defensive record in either the Western or the Eastern Conference.
Bet: Diego Rubio 6/5 to score anytime against Orlando in Sunday’s MLS matchup @ Bet 365
