Diego Simeone hints at Atletico deal

Former Atletico Madrid midfielder Diego Simeone admits that he is interested in replacing Gregorio Manzano at Vicente Calderon.

Gregorio Manzano is set to get the boot after the disappointing defeat to Albacete and Diego Simeone is likely to replace him on the bench.

The Argentine has just resigned from the post at Racing Club and is now eager to take over at Vicente Calderon.

“Hopefully, I can be the next Atletico coach,” Simeone told TV Fox Sports in Argentina.

“I do think there is a possibility and I hope I am given a chance. They (Atletico) have been aware of my situation and I think there is a chance to go there.”
