Dinamo Moscow have announced on their official website that they have captured Dutch defender Douglas from Twente.
The Brazil-born defender arrives at the club on a free transfer after his deal with the Tukkers expired in June.
Douglas has put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the Russian Premier League side and will wear number 5 during the 2013/2014 season.
He has thus become club’s third signing of the summer transfer window, following in the footsteps of Alan Kasaev and Vladimir Dyadyun.
The 25-year-old decided to look for a new challenge after spending last six years at Twente, but some would be surprised he has opted to move to Russia.
Newcastle were one of the first sides to express interest in the towering centre-back, but they have failed to make a move this summer.
Douglas has amassed no less than 162 Eredivisie appearances for the Tukkers, scoring 15 goals and winning one league title and one KNVB Beker trophy in the process.
