Greek champions Olympiakos Piraeus announced Tuesday that they have signed Brazilian striker Diogo Luis Santo on a five-year contract from Portuguesa.
No financial details of the deal for the talented 21-year-old forward were revealed by Olympiakos although local press reports said the transfer from the Portuguese club cost a record 15 million euros.
Diogo will be getting a reported 1.5 million euros annually, making him the highest paid soccer player in Greece ever.
“I am happy that I have come to play for a major club like Olympiakos. I will do my best to satisfy the club’s administration and supporters,” Diogo said.
Diogo scored 18 goals last season for Portuguesa and has played for the Brazilian Under-20 squad.
