Striker Mame Biram Diouf has left Manchester United to join Bundesliga club Hannover, signing a contract until the end of the 2013/14 season.
The 24-year-old failed to make an impact upon his arrival in England from Norwegian club Molde in 2009 and spent the 2010/11 season on loan at Blackburn Rovers.
This season he has failed to make an appearance for the first team in the Premier League although he featured in three matches in the League Cup.
“I’m glad that in Mame Diouf, we have an additional option for the attack,” Hannover coach Mirko Slomka said.
“He will have to focus on integrating quickly so he can help us with the upcoming tasks in the Bundesliga and in the Europa League.”
According to Bild, the German club paid 1.5 million pounds for the Senegalese striker.
Hannover are seventh in the Bundesliga and won their last league game against Nuremberg 1-0 on Friday.
