Liverpool striker Divock Origi could be staying at Wolfsburg beyond the current season, according to the German club.
The 22-year-old joined the Wolves on a season-long loan and he enjoyed a bright start to his career in Germany, scoring 4 goals in 15 league appearances.
Wolfsburg chiefs are clearly happy with his contribution and they are now hoping to turn his loan deal into permanent move.
“Liverpool bosses are businessmen and not Samaritans,” Wolfsburg sporting director Olaf Rebbe told Kicker. “We will try to explore all the possibilities with the player who feels good here.”
Considering that Origi has just 18 months left on his contract at Anfield, chances are that Liverpool will be ready to do business with the Bundesliga outfit.
The Belgian fared pretty well since joining the Reds, scoring 12 goals in 21 Premier League starts, but he couldn’t convince manager Jurgen Klopp he deserves a regular starting berth.
