French newspaper Le 10 Sport is reporting that Montpellier are pondering a move for QPR striker Djibril Cisse.
The Frenchman, who spent last six months on loan at Al Gharafa, has one year left on his deal at Loftus Road, but everything suggests he will be leaving the Rangers this summer.
According to Le 10 Sport, Montpellier are prepared to offer him an escape route from Loftus Road, but club president confirms signing the veteran forward would be a major gamble.
“It would be a big gamble. It is the coach who decides, not me,” Montpellier chairman Louis Nicollin told Radio Monte Carlo.
Montepellier have been struggling up front ever since they sold star striker Olivier Giroud to Arsenal, and they could really use a proven goalscorer.
The problem is that Cisse hasn’t really impressed of late and it remains to be seen whether they will attempt to sign the 31-year-old striker.
The Frenchman has largely struggled for form since leaving Panathinaikos in the summer of 2011, but a move to France could kick-start his career.
