Lille have completed the signing of Djibril Sidibe from Troyes, the Ligue 1 side have announced on their official website.
The talented full-back was captured from the newly promoted side for an undisclosed fee and he signed a four-year deal last night before taking part in Lille’s 6-0 victory over Stade Montois.
The France Under-20 international arrives to Stade Lille Metropole as a replacement for Mathieu Debuchy, who looks set to sign for Newcastle United.
The 19-year-old was visibly delighted with the opportunity to join one of France’s top clubs.
“The challenge is high but extremely exciting,” Sidibe said to club’s official website.
“It’s a big step in my career, as I’ve only played in Ligue 2 so far. I’ll begin to experience the top flight and European football. I’m somehow in a new dimension.”
The full-back, who began his career at Troyes, has featured in 34 Ligue 2 games last season, scoring one goal in the process.
Sidibe helped the Stade de l’Aube outfit gain promotion to the top flight before starring for France Under-20 side at a Youth Festival in Toulon.
