Dodo could join United for £8m

Brazilian side Corinthians wants £8million for Manchester United target Dodo, according to reports.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has secured first option on the promising 18-year-old.

The Brazilian left-back is reportedly keen on leaving Corinthians, following the club’s signing of 36-year-old veteran Roberto Carlos on a two-year deal.

“Manchester have priority until February 15,” said Corithians president Andres Sanchez to Lancenet.

“If they pay 9million euros (around £7.9m), what can I do?”

Dodo’s contract with Corinthians expire in 2012 and while the Brazilian club claims United have first option on the defender until February this year, his agent claims United have first option until 2011.
