First it was Frenkie de Jong who decided to join Barcelona, then it was Matthijs de Ligt who went to Juventus. But another Ajax youngster is nearing the exit from the Johan Cruyff Arena this summer. That is Kasper Dolberg, the 21-year-old striker, who is closing in on a move to OGC Nice.
According to L’Equipe, the Ligue 1 side are edging towards the confirmation of the deal and the French media outlet have some very specific information about it, too. They claim Dolberg will move to the Allianz Riviera for a transfer fee of €25m and sign a five-year contract, that should keep him at the south of France until June 2024. The deal is expected to be announced in the coming days, according to the same source.
Dolberg had a fine season at Ajax, but not a breathtaking one as De Jong or De Ligt and Ajax are expected to replace him in an easier fashion.
