Donati desperate for Italy return

Celtic midfielder Massimo Donati admits he is keen on a return to Italian football.

Donati has been linked with a move to Sampdoria in the Italian press, after Atalanta ruled out a deal for the former AC Milan midfielder.

Donati is keen on a move back to Italy in the January transfer window.

“I do not know anything about a Sampdoria offer and for the moment I keep training hard as usual,” Donati told the Daily Record.

“But I look forward to a call from Italy within the transfer period and I would carefully consider every option.

“My target is to get back to Italy.”
