Former AC Milan and Celtic midfielder Massimo Donati wants to return to his homeland after a forgetful season with SPL side Celtic FC.

The 28 year old just made just four SPL appearances last season after falling out of favour under Gordon Strachan.

However the arrival of Tony Mowbray’s at Parkhead, hasn’t changed the situation much, with the Italian stating that he still wants to return home.

“I hope one of the club interested in me comes up with something soon,” stated Donati

“I heard Napoli want to sign me but it seems right now that every day I could be destined for another city like Palermo or Genoa.

“I’m pleased if these clubs rate me as a player, but I need an offer on the table before I can think about things seriously.

“Hopefully, something will definite will happen soon.”

Napoli, Palermo and Genoa have been linked with 28-year-old for a possible move.
