(GSM) – Doncaster chairman John Ryan has confirmed he will be “trying his best” to sign on-loan striker Billy Sharp on a permanent basis.

Sharp, 23, arrived on loan from neighbours Sheffield United on a season-long loan and has fired 8 goals in his last seven matches for Rovers. Ryan is clearly delighted with Sharp’s contribution to the club.

Ryan told the Doncaster Free Press: “There’s not a lot I can say on the subject really, other than, as a fan myself, I would love to see him here on a permanent basis.

“As far as I’m aware Billy has said he would like to see out his loan spell at the club until the end of the season because he’s enjoying it so much and will make a decision about his future then.

“He still has another year left on his contract at Sheffield United after this season, but if he does become available in the summer, we will certainly be throwing our hat into the ring.

“All I can say is we will be doing our best.”

Sharp has also played with Sheffield United, Rushden & Diamonds and Scunthrope United in his short career to date.

Thanks for this post. Often, the very best advice come from the blogs you wouldn’t expect. Until now, I failed to give a lot of thought to writing comments on blog entries and have left responses even less. Reading your good content, is going to inspire me to do this often.
