Dortmund agree deal for new keeper

Borussia Dortmund are set to complete the signing of Swiss goalkeeper Roman Burki from Freiburg, according to Blick.

The Millionaires seem ready to offload veteran shot-stopper Roman Weidenfeller one year before his contract is due to expire.

As a result, they have been on the lookout for a player to challenge Mitchell Langerak for a starting berth and it appears they have found their man.

Swiss daily newspaper Blick has learned that Borussia have agreed a €4.5 million transfer fee with Freiburg for Roman Burki.

The 24-year-old only joined the Bundesliga side last summer from Grasshoppers, but he impressed in his debut season, featuring in all 34 league games.

Burki is now set to join one of Germany’s most famous clubs as his career continues to flourish.

The talented goalkeeper is currently playing second fiddle to Borussia M’gladbach hotshot Yann Sommer in the national team, and he has so far earned mere two Switzerland caps.
