Dortmund agree Ginter deal
Borussia Dortmund are wrapping up a deal to sign German defender Matthias Ginter from Freiburg, according to Bild.
The same source has suggested that the Millionaires have agreed an €8 million fee with their Bundesliga rivals, with the Germany international expected to sign a contract until June 2018.
Ginter, 20, has been on the radar of Manchester United and Arsenal, but Borussia Dortmund were the first side to make their interest concrete.
The Millionaires are not exactly spoilt for choices at the heart of defence and they believe the latest addition will seriously improve the situation.
Despite his fragile age, Ginter has already amassed 65 Bundesliga appearances for Freiburg and has scored 2 goals in the process.
He was handed his international debut in the March friendly against Chile and some pundits even believe he should make the country’s World Cup squad.
Demba Ba wants PSG switch
Chelsea striker Demba Ba has admitted that he would like to join French giants Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.
The Senegalese scored the most important goal of his career as his late strike saw Chelsea eliminate the Saints to reach Champions League semi-finals, but this has done nothing to improve the player’s chances of staying at Stamford Bridge.
Ba is almost certain to leave the Blues in the summer in search of first team football and he has now offered his services to Paris Saint-Germain.
“Yes, I see myself in Paris,” the 28-year-old confessed to Le Parisien. “If PSG want a player compatible to Zlatan…”
Despite seeing little playing time at Stamford Bridge this season, the Senegalese has been quite impressive every time he was called upon.
And while netting three times in 15 Premier League outings, he has scored no less than three Champions League goals despite only starting one match and making another three substitute appearances.
Napoli join race for Evra
Italian daily newspaper Il Mattino is reporting that Napoli are the latest high-profile side to have joined the chase for Manchester United defender Patrice Evra.
The Frenchman will be leaving Old Trafford when his contract expires in June and he is heavily linked with a move to Italian Serie A, with Inter Milan and Juventus showing interest.
And according to Il Mattino, Napoli are also keen on securing the services of the experienced full-back in the summer transfer window.
The Azzurri have signed Faouzi Ghoulam from Saint Etienne in January, but they believe Evra’s experience would prove a major asset at Stadio San Paolo.
Napoli have considerable transfer funds available and with the Frenchman available on a free transfer, they would be able to offer him a lucrative deal.
The Azzurri play host to Lazio on Sunday and they have been made 8/13 favourites to claim maximum points.
