Things are getting interesting in Manchester once again. After Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Matteo Darmian and Chris Smalling, another of their players could be going to Italy – Nemanja Matic. However, now those links have a non-Italian team in the mix as well, Borussia Dortmund.
According to Calciomercato, the German giants are another club looking to sign the Serbia international, alongside Juventus, Inter and AC Milan. The 31-year-old defensive midfielder will be out of contract at the end of the season, as his current contract ends on 30 June 2020. After that, he will be available on a free transfer and thus so many clubs interested in signing him.
Calciomercato claim that one of the two Milan clubs would be Matic’s preferred destination, but that his high wage demands could be a problem for AC Milan. Also, there are reports claiming that Man United could activate a season-long extension, which would protect them from losing the player on a free.
