La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid are locked in the battle for Inter Milan midfielder Ricky Alvarez.
The Nerazzurri are hoping to extend the player’s contract that is due to expire in June 2016, but while they have offered the midfielder a yearly wage of €1.8 million, he is holding out for €2.5 million per season.
Taking also into account that Inter plan a major squad overhaul at the end of the season, the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza outfit look set to cash in on the Argentine instead.
Ricky Alvarez is wanted by both Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid, and the Nerazzurri plan to sell the midfielder to the highest bidder.
The 26-year-old has had mixed success since joining from Velez Sarsfield, scoring 11 goals in 71 Serie A matches.
Inter Milan face local rivals AC Milan on Sunday evening, and they are 9/5 to emerge victorious.
