Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund are hot on the trail of Club Brugge defender Bjorn Engels, according to Reviersport.
The Millionaires have signed Marc Bartra to replace Mats Hummels, but with Neven Subotic also expected to leave, they are in the market for another central defender.
The latest reports suggest that Borussia Dortmund have made a move on Bjorn Engels, offering €12 million for the 21-year-old footballer, but their bid was swiftly rejected by his current employers.
Engels is widely regarded as one of the hottest prospects to have come out of Club Brugge’s youth academy in recent years and he has so far featured in 56 league matches.
The 21-year-old was included in Belgium’s squad for the Euro 2016 finals, but he was eventually forced to withdraw due to groin injury.
Engles has yet to make his debut for the senior national team, but it is only a matter of time before he wins his first cap.
