Dortmund bid for De Bruyne

German newspaper Rheinische Post reports that Borussia Dortmund have submitted a bid for Chelsea midfielder Kevin de Bruyne.

The Belgian international has been in scintillating form ever since he was farmed out on loan at Werder Bremen, with top German sides taking notice.

After Bayer Leverkusen showed interest in the talented midfielder, it appears that Borussia Dortmund have joined the race as well.

According to Rheinische Post, the Millionaires have tested Chelsea’s resolve with a £14.5 million bid.

Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp expects at least one of his star midfielders to leave in the summer and is keen to add De Bruyne to his ranks.

The 21-year-old has been the only bright spot in an otherwise disappointing campaign for Werder, scoring 6 goals and producing 9 assists in 29 Bundesliga fixtures.

He has hinted that he would rather play regular football elsewhere than return to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Do they really need him there? Do they want to rise the competition? I think it’s the only thing why they want to buy him. They’ve already got Nuri Sahin, Ikay Gundogan and Mario Gotze and all of them are world class so Kevin should find his chance in another club. I actually like an idea of Chelsea buying Shurrle from Leverkusen and using De Bruyne as a part of a price. He’d definitely play in the starting 11 regularly there. And also Bayer is the 3rd force in Bundesliga so it’s not just a mediocre club.
