Spanish daily newspaper Marca is reporting that Racing Club forward Lautaro Martinez is nearing a move to European football.
Atletico Madrid were the first top side to show interest in the 20-year-old, but now Borussia Dortmund have joined the chase.
The Millionaires watched the youngster in the 2-1 triumph over league leaders Boca Juniors, where Martinez opened the scoring.
His father moved to confirm the interest from Borussia Dortmund, with the first contact now officially established.
“They came to see the game and I believe they went away with a good idea of what Lautaro can do,” he told TyC Sports on Monday.
“We had an informal chat and dinner together but there is still nothing concrete.”
Lautaro Martinez, who bagged 11 goals in 30 league appearances for Racing Club, has a €9 million release clause in his contract and is widely expected to make a big club move in the summer.
