Dortmund challenge Bayern for Julian Brandt

German media outlet Bild has suggested that Borussia Dortmund have joined the chase for Bayer Leverkusen starlet Julian Brandt.

The 20-year-old has continued with impressive displays this season and there is every chance he will be leaving for a top club at the end of the season.

Namely, while his contract does not expire until June 2019, a €12.5 million release clause will be activated in the summer of 2018.

This is why Bayer Leverkusen are working hard in an attempt to persuade the youngster to sign a new deal at Bay Arena, whereas Bayern Munich are believed to be frontrunners for his signature.

Nevertheless, Bild understands that Borussia Dortmund are hot on the trail of Brandt as well and they could soon come forward with an official proposal.

Julian Brandt has been in fine form this season, having managed 2 goals and 6 assists in 15 Bundesliga matches.
