Borussia Dortmund starlets Ousmane Dembele and Christian Pulisic have moved to reveal that they both rejected the opportunity to join Liverpool.
It was former Millionaires boss Jurgen Klopp who attempted to lure the duo to Anfield last summer, but he eventually failed in said pursuit.
Ousmane Dembele was flattered by the interest from the Reds, but he didn’t want to break his word and eventually signed for Borussia Dortmund.
“I met Klopp in Paris, but I told him that I had already decided for Dortmund,” the Frenchman told Four Four Two magazine.
That proved to be a very good decision as Dembele went on to score 6 goals and set up 14 more in his first 32 appearances for the club.
Meanwhile, Christian Pulisic had no intention of leaving the Millionaires as he knew he would be given a chance to shine at Signal-Iduna Park.
“I respect Klopp and know him – he has welcomed me here – but I never really thought about going to Liverpool,” the USMNT confessed to told Four Four Two.
Pulisic has also played an important role this season, having managed 2 goals and 7 assists in 26 competitive outings.
