Borussia Dortmund have joined the race to sign Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling, according to the Daily Star.
Sterling’s rapid rise to prominence has seen him linked with a move to a number of Europe’s elite, with English champions Manchester City and Champions League holders Real Madrid also monitoring his situation.
However, Bundesliga side Dortmund are also ready to throw their hat in to the ring as they look to move past this season’s disappointments.
Jurgen Klopp’s side currently sit tenth in the German top flight, but earlier in the campaign looked in danger of being embroiled in a relegation battle while they were knocked out of the Champions League by Juventus last week.
Sterling, who is currently on international duty with England, made his one hundred and twentieth appearance for Liverpool in Sunday’s 2-1 defeat by Manchester United – a result which left Brendan Rodgers men five points behind the Champions League qualification places.
