Borussia Dortmund have started the season well, but they are now stuttering. After having a 2-0 lead against RB Lepzig they drew 3-3 and just days later they squandered the lead and lost to Hoffenheim 2-1. This means their chances of fighting for the Bundesliga title is becoming more and more unrealistic and that is why they might have to do a lot of work in the January transfer window.
They might even go to Naples in order to get a new signing – according to Calciomercato, Borussia Dortmund are looking to swoop for Napoli striker Dries Mertens this coming month! The Belgian’s contract with Napoli expires at the end of the season and he has so far rejected the Serie A side’s proposals for a new deal.
With the turmoil in Naples being almost constant, Dortmund could land the 32-year-old with a bid of just €10 million, as Mertens is potentially set to leave on a free in the summer.
