Borussia Dortmund have joined the race to sign Liverpool midfielder Emre Can, according to the Mirror.

The twenty-three year old has been strongly linked with a move to Juventus however Dortmund are ready to give him the chance to return to his home country.

Can’s contract expires at the end of the season, and he will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with either side in January.

Liverpool are keen for the Germany international to pen a deal that would see him remain at Anfield, with the player’s representatives likely to insist on a buy-out clause being inserted in any potential contract.

Can moved to Merseyside in the summer of 2014 and has since racked up one hundred and forty-four appearances in all competitions, scoring eleven goals.

Internationally, he has been capped nineteen times for his country with his last appearance coming in Friday evening’s goalless draw with England.
