Borussia Dortmund are lining up a summer bid for Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, Sport Bild has revealed.
With star striker Robert Lewandowski set to be sold next summer after refusing to sign a contract renewal, the Millionaires are now working on finding a proper replacement.
According to Sport Bild, BVB will attempt to lure Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko to Signal-Iduna Park.
The Bundesliga champions are hoping an offer in the region of €25 million would prove sufficient next summer.
Borussia are also banking on Dzeko’s desire to return to German Bundesliga, although his €10 million gross salary is likely to be a huge problem.
That could, however, be sorted by the player accepting a pay cut or with sponsors providing a part of the money needed to pay his wages.
Despite starting just 9 of 20 Premier League games this season, Dzeko is team’s top scorer in English Premier League with 10 goals.
