Portuguese newspaper A Bola understands that Borussia Dortmund are showing interest in Porto stars James Rodriguez and Eliaquim Mangala.
The same source has learned that BVB coach Jurgen Klopp, sporting director Michael Zorc and general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke visited Estadio do Dragao last weekend to watch the clash between Porto and Benfica.
While their interest in striker Jackson Martinez has already been confirmed, A Bola claims the Millionaires are also thinking about recruiting James Rodriguez and Eliaquim Mangala.
The Colombian forward would be an excellent replacement for Bayern-bound Mario Gotze, although the high asking price could prove to be an obstacle to any deal.
Meanwhile, Borussia will bid for Eliaquim Mangala in case they fail to prevent Mats Hummels from leaving the club in the summer.
Neither of the two players is going to come on the cheap, but the good news is the Millionaires have a sizeable transfer kitty.
Juventus open talks for Sampdoria duo
Juventus have started negotiations with Sampdoria over Andrea Poli and Pedro Obiang, reports Tuttosport.
The Bianconeri general manager Beppe Marotta and Sampdoria president Edoardo Garrone have met on Monday to discuss their potential targets.
It is believed Marotta have informed Garrone of Juventus’ interest in midfielders Andrea Poli and Pedro Obiang, with a view of luring the duo to Turin in the summer.
Andrea Poli, 23, has just a year left on his deal at Marassi and with the footballer not willing to renew, there is every chance he will be sold at the end of the current campaign.
Pedro Obiang, 21, is one of the hottest properties in Italian Serie A, and he is seen by the Old Lady as a long-term replacement for Andrea Pirlo.
Provided the two clubs can reach an agreement, Juventus would allow the Spaniard to stay at Sampdoria for another season.
Meanwhile, Edoardo Garrone has inquired about Paolo De Ceglie, Luca Marrone and Richmond Boakye.
Ajax confirm interest in Marco van Ginkel
Ajax are prepared to go the extra mile to sign Vitesse midfielder Marco van Ginkel, according to club’s sporting director Marc Overmars.
The Amsterdammers look set to stay without both Christian Eriksen and Siem de Jong in the summer, and they are determined to sign midfield reinforcements.
It is no secret Ajax are keen on Vitesse starlet Marco van Ginkel, but sporting director Marc Overmars is aware reaching an agreement with the player’s employers will be no easy task.
“We have spoken to Marco and he would love to come to Ajax,” Overmars explained to De Telegraaf.
“He can, with a view to the Dutch team, develop better and faster with us in the Champions League.
”They (Vitesse) say: ‘We won’t sell to Ajax’.”
The 20-year-old midfielder has exploded onto the biggest stage this season, managing 8 goals and as many assists in 33 Eredivisie fixtures.
