German newspaper Bild claims that Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen are locked in the battle for Hertha full-back Mitchell Weiser.
The 23-year-old has largely impressed since joining on a free transfer from Bayern Munich, going on to make 70 Bundesliga appearances, scoring 5 goals.
Even though he has another two years left on his contract, Weiser is almost certain to leave Hertha in the summer, due to a buy-out clause, believed to be between €12m and €13m.
Both Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen have informed their league rivals they are ready to trigger said clause that will be in effect until 1st May.
That basically means that all that’s left is for Weiser to choose his preferred destination and agree a contract with either the Millionaires or die Werkself.
