Borussia Dortmund are set to launch an assault on Atletico Mineiro midfielder Bernard, German newspaper Bild has revealed.
Signing a replacement for Bayern-bound Mario Gotze is a priority in the summer transfer window and it appears club chiefs have found their man.
According to German daily Bild, the Millionaires are closing in on Atletico Mineiro starlet Bernard.
The Bundesliga side are prepared to offer around €12 million for the 20-year-old footballer and club chief Michael Zorc has already travelled to Brazil to wrap up the deal.
Bernard has spent his entire career at Atletico Mineiro and has already made 81 league appearances for the Brazilian club.
He has been playing at a very high level over the last two years, scoring 17 goals in 54 league matches in the process.
Bernard looks ready for a new challenge and it remains to be seen whether he can emulate Mario Gotze at Signal-Iduna Park.
