Borussia Dortmund are on the lookout for a long-term successor to veteran keeper Roman Weidenfeller, Bild has revealed.
While the 34-year-old remains the number one goalkeeper at Signal-Iduna Park, the Millionaires have started the search for his potential replacement.
According to Bild, Eintracht Frankfurt hotshot Kevin Trapp and Freiburg’s Roman Burki are the first names on club’s hit-list.
Swiss newspaper Blick understands that Dortmund have enquired about the availability of Roman Burki, who only joined his new club from Grasshoppers in the summer.
And with the 23-year-old’s release clause standing at mere €5 million, the Switzerland international appears to be their top target.
Meanwhile, Kevin Trapp has a contract until June 2016 and should be available for €4 million, so everything suggests BVB will not be spending a lot of money on Weidenfeller’s successor.
The Millionaires have endured a shocking start to the Bundesliga campaign, but they are 2/5 favourites to see off Paderborn next time out.
