Dortmund lining up Costa bid

Borussia Dortmund are lining up a move for Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa as they seek a replacement for outgoing striker Robert Lewandowski, the Mail Online understands.

The Poland international is set to leave the Westfalenstadion either in January or when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Bayern Munich are currently favourites to secure the former Lech Poznan man, while Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have also been linked.

Costa has been in sublime form this season, scoring thirteen goals in as many games in La Liga this season, a record that is only bettered by Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

A host of Premier League clubs were interested in signing the 25 year old during the summer, with Liverpool failing in a bid to take the forward to Anfield.

Despite making two friendly appearances for Brazil, he has switched allegiances to Spain, and was set to win his first international cap under Vincente del Bosque in Saturday afternoon’s match against Equatorial Guinea.
