La Gazzetta dello Sport understands that Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund and Schalke are keeping close tabs on Genoa midfielder Tomas Rincon.
The 27-year-old left Hamburg to join the Rossoblu on a free transfer last summer and he in turn enjoyed an excellent start to his career in Italy.
The Venezuelan quickly nailed down a regular starting berth and helped Genoa mount a serious challenge for Europa League positions.
As a result, the Rossoblu officials seem prepared to offer the player a 30 percent pay rise in order to remain at Stadio Luigi Ferraris, but they are also wary of clubs showing interest in his services.
Namely, the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Schalke look set to try and lure Rincon back to the German Bundesliga, but they have yet to come forward with official proposals.
Genoa have a perfect opportunity to further improve their chances of securing European qualification this weekend and they are priced at 9/5 to defeat Atalanta on the road.
