Borussia Dortmund have announced on their official website that they have completed the signing of Japanese midfielder Mitsuru Maruoka from Cerezo Osaka.
The talented footballer arrives on an 18-month loan having impressed Jurgen Klopp and his coaching staff during a trial at Signal-Iduna Park.
The 17-year-old will join club’s Under-23 squad, where he will be given a chance to prove his worth and possibly earn a long-term contract.
Borussia Dortmund fans are hoping Maruoka will go on to become an important player for the club in years to come, just like Shinji Kagawa did, who had also joined BVB from Cerezo Osaka.
The Millionaires have struggled for form of late, having won just one of last five Bundesliga fixtures, allowing Bayern to create a 12-point advantage at the top.
Jurgen Klopp’s side return into action on Saturday as they play host to Hertha, and are 4/11 to return to winning ways.
