(GSM) – Bayer Leverkusen missed a chance to go top of the Bundesliga on Saturday as they were overwhelmed by Borussia Dortmund in the second half of a 3-0 defeat.

The sides went scoreless in the opening 45 minutes at Signal-Iduna-Park, but the home side busted the game open just after the restart.

In the 50th minute, Patrick Owomoyela sent in a pass for Lucas Barrios, and the talismanic Argentine hit a nice right-footed shot beyond Rene Adler for a 1-0 lead.

Ten minutes later, Barrios bagged his second of the match when Mohamed Zidan’s ball fell into his path for the finish.

Dimitar Rangelov finished off the game in the 87th minute with a fine solo goal.

Leverkusen remain third, three points behind Bayern Munich. Dortmund are fourth, now four points back of Leverkusen for the final Champions League spot.
