German media outlet Bild has suggested that Borussia Dortmund have plans to sign Werder Bremen winger Serge Gnabry.
The 21-year-old joined Werder Bremen last summer after a somewhat disappointing spell with Arsenal and he largely impressed in his maiden Bundesliga campaign.
Having scored 10 goals in 23 league appearances, Gnabry has seen his name linked with quite a few top sides, meaning that a summer exit is a realistic possibility.
According to Bild, both Borussia Dortmund and Hoffenheim are prepared to match the player’s €8 million release clause, although Werder Bremen chiefs still hope the winger will remain loyal to his current employers.
Gnabry has a deal until June 2020 at Weserstadion, but it will not be easy for him to resist the temptation of playing Champions League football next season.
Both Dortmund and Hoffenheim have all but secured a top 4 finish and they are currently vying for the final automatic berth.
