Dortmund to keep Haaland ‘at all costs’

According to a fresh report from German publication SportBild, Borussia Dortmund have already started planning the squad for next season with Marco Rose, who is set to leave Borussia Monchengladbach and take over at the Signal Iduna Park this summer.

Apparently, they have their minds set on acquiring a new winger and a central defender. They could allow Jadon Sancho to leave, providing Manchester United revive their interest in the 20-year-old from last summer and submit a suitable offer for his services, but they will try to keep hold of Erling Haaland ‘at all costs’.

Haaland has been on incredible form since joining the club in January last year. This season, he has netted 27 times along with seven assists in just 25 games in all competitions, and he’s widely considered as one of the biggest stars of the next decade. Naturally, his quality has attracted the attentions of many, not least United whose boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently revealed that he’s in contact with his young compatriot. Manchester City are also being credited with interest, as are Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus.

His contract with Dortmund expires in the summer of 2024.
